For example in all of the stories the characters are running away from something, Like Holly was always running away from commitment. But, the biggest overlaying theme that all three of the stories and the novella share is the characters trying to escape from Reality. Holly was constantly refusing to realize the reality of the things going on around her, the same was with the other characters, all of them to refuse to be apart of reality.
